Manufacturing process

Exhaust pipes bent
NovaNox® manufactures bent exhaust pipes using the bending process. The automated bending process enables efficient production of pipes with diameters from 3 mm up to 120 mm. Complex geometries with multiple bends are also possible. Thanks to the high degree of automation, fast throughput times can be implemented without any problems and the process is particularly suitable for medium and large series.


Manually and automatically welded exhaust pipes
NovaNox® has many years of know-how in welding technology. In addition to the automated welding process, we also manufacture manually welded exhaust pipes. Especially for custom-made products as well as for small and medium-sized series, the manual welding process offers a cost-effective alternative with fast turnaround times. The hand-welded exhaust pipes are manufactured on modern welding tables.

The automated welding process is performed by welding robots. The automated manufacturing process enables very fast and efficient production. Ideal conditions if high demands are to be produced cost-effectively with consistent quality at all times. The automated welding process is the best possible method for welding with the highest precision.

NovaNox® offers a wide range of processes for pipe finishing. These processes allow quick and easy assembly for any installation situation. We offer beading according to DIN 71550 and DIN flanges. Expansions and reductions can be made to customer specifications.

In addition, we can provide pipe ends with threaded connections or slit them. Tapping screw connections as well as male and female couplings are also possible. This gives our customers the flexibility to meet their specific requirements.

Corrosion protection and finishes for exhaust pipes

Surface treatments are important for the longevity, safety and appearance of exhaust pipes. A corrosion-free, safe and solid surface increases the service life of the pipes. Our own powder coating and painting facility enables us to supply exhaust pipes quickly and in high quality in all RAL colors. For optimum corrosion protection, we offer heat-resistant painting, galvanizing, powder coating as well as pickling and passivation.

We use FEM calculations to determine the structural strength, fatigue strength and material efficiency of your concept at an early stage of development. This keeps you on the safe side during the test phases and also after your customers have put your product into operation.

In the process, we digitally visualize the consequences of different mechanical, thermal and electrical loads for you using linear and non-linear structural-mechanical calculations. What advantages does this bring you? We can examine the effects of the various influences on the entire product or component before we build prototypes. And this is feasible for any geometries, even complex ones.

The results of these calculations also serve you as evidence for technical approvals, for product liability and production releases.
FEM calculations by NovaNox® are performed analytically according to general and international standards. This ensures comparability and reliable results. In detail we do for you

  • Analysis of deformations, stiffnesses and stability
  • consideration of natural vibrations
  • transient structural analysis
  • collision analyses
  • temperature field calculation (thermal-stationary or thermal-transient)

You will receive technical drawings from us in 2D (in dxf, dwg and pdf formats) and in 3D (in step format). Depending on your needs, we will produce individual part drawings, assembly drawings, general drawings or assembly drawings for you. In addition, you will receive detailed technical documentation for review. This gives you the opportunity to make adjustments or add special requests before production. This means you are on the safe side when the production line starts rolling.

From demand planning to logistical handling, we take over the complete process for you. We provide you with a total of 1,200 square meters of storage space as a consignment warehouse to ensure uninterrupted production processes. On the one hand, this saves you costs compared to having your own storage capacity. On the other hand, you can produce more cost-effectively in larger batch sizes.

Quality management

  • A 100% test with air underwater is carried out in our proprietary test basin, following regulations like ECE R34 or 70/21/EEC
  • Pressure test
  • Leak test by means of red or fluorescent dyes
