Aluminum hydraulic tanks for machines, equipment and automotive engineering

Aluminum hydraulic tanks are integrated into the hydraulic system in machines, equipment and in vehicle technology. Hydraulic systems are used for power, energy and signal transmission and work with a fluid. The hydraulic fluid is usually hydraulic oil. Aluminum hydraulic tanks are used to remove and store the hydraulic oil within the system.

In addition to legal guidelines, aluminum hydraulic tanks must meet many requirements. In daily use, aluminum hydraulic tanks are constantly exposed to mechanical forces, vibrations and temperature fluctuations. In order to achieve a maximum filling volume, complex designs are sometimes necessary. These place additional demands on strength.

We only produce individual solutions for orders of at least 50 pieces

Lightweight aluminum hydraulic tanks from NovaNox®.

Unlike conventional aluminum hydraulic tanks, lightweight NovaNox® hydraulic tanks are made of high-quality thin aluminum. This results in enormous weight savings, especially in automotive and aerospace applications. Every reduction in weight lowers fuel consumption and the associated operating costs.

Despite the lightweight construction, our aluminum hydraulic tanks made with thin sheet impress with their high strength. Our own welding process planning ensures this quality feature.

Manufacturing process

Manual welding
The trained staff of our welding store has many years of know-how in welding technology. We produce using the automated welding process and also manufacture hand-welded aluminum hydraulic tanks. The manual welding process is primarily lucrative for custom-made products, small series and medium batch sizes in terms of lower costs and lead times. The production of the hand-welded aluminum hydraulic tanks takes place on modern welding tables. The dimensional accuracy is ensured by our own fixture construction. Repeatability is also permanently met - even with high tolerances.

Automated welding
Our welding robots for the automated welding process are state-of-the-art and support the high speed and efficiency of our automated manufacturing process.  High demands can thus be produced at optimum cost while maintaining consistent quality. The automated welding process is also the most precise method of welding. This means that even very complex aluminum hydraulic tanks with high tolerance requirements can be manufactured.

Corrosion protection and finishes for aluminum hydraulic tanks

Surface treatments are important for the durability, safety and appearance of your product. With a surface that is permanently protected from oxidation, resistant and durable, the longevity of the aluminum hydraulic tanks is supported. Additionally, aluminum hydraulic tanks appear more visually appealing. Our own powder coating and painting facility enables us to quickly implement high-quality surface treatments in all RAL colors. For optimal corrosion protection, we recommend heat-resistant paint, powder coating, pickling or passivation.

Services

We perform FEM calculations in the early stages of development. This enables us to determine the structural strength, fatigue strength and material efficiency of your concept, among other things. This gives you more security during the test phases as well as after your product has been put into operation by your customers.

We digitally demonstrate the consequences of different mechanical, thermal and electrical stresses through linear and non-linear structural mechanics calculations. This is advantageous for you because we can investigate the effects of the various influences on the entire product or component for any design, even complex ones, before we build prototypes.

You can use the results of these investigations as evidence for technical approvals, for product liability and production releases.

NovaNox® FEM calculations are performed analytically according to general and international standards. This ensures comparability and reliable results. In detail we do for you

  • linear and non-linear structural mechanics calculations
  • Analysis of deformations, stiffnesses and stability
  • Consideration of natural vibrations
  • Transient structural analysis
  • Collision analyses
  • Temperature field calculation (thermal-stationary or thermal-transient)
  • CAE-supported fatigue analysis with nCode

You will receive individual part drawings, assembly drawings, general drawings or assembly drawings from us as technical drawings in 2D (in the formats dxf, dwg and pdf) and in 3D (in step format). In addition, we create detailed technical documentation for you to check. This allows you to make corrections or adjust special details before production. This way you are on the safe side when the production line starts rolling.

You can be sure that everything will fit perfectly and be implemented correctly. With this variety of technical drawings and the detailed documentation, communication functions precisely throughout your entire development and production process chain. These documents cover the different information needs of each process stage, ensuring more efficient operations.

We take care of the entire process for you, from requirements planning to logistical execution. For this purpose, we have a total of 1,200 square meters available to you as a consignment warehouse. This ensures uninterrupted production processes. This reduces your costs in two respects: Your own warehouse space, including the capital commitment, would be more expensive for you. Secondly, production in larger runs lowers manufacturing costs.

In this way, you secure the best possible component supply for your series production. Your aluminum hydraulic tanks are delivered on time from the consignment warehouse as you call them off. We integrate your existing logistics processes seamlessly. Thus you have the optimal solution for your risk-free component supply with aluminum hydraulic tanks from NovaNox® all year round.

Quality management

Welding process planning forms the basis for selecting the best welding process for the individual requirements of your aluminum hydraulic tanks. Using the optimal welding process improves the safety and stability of your aluminum hydraulic tanks.

Determining the welding sequence is also part of the welding process planning. If the sequence of welding operations is optimal, this increases the efficiency of the manufacturing processes and increases the service life and reliable tightness of your aluminum hydraulic tanks.

Type identification allows each aluminum hydraulic tank to be easily traced back to its origin. From manufacture to the last application, every station that the tank has passed during its product life is verifiable in detail. This verification increases your peace of mind .

Depending on the material and the use of your aluminum hydraulic tanks, different types of type markings are possible:

  • Laser engraving
  • Welded metal plates with laser engraving
  • Self-adhesive metal plates with laser engraving
  • Self-adhesive plastic plates with specific imprint and silicone coating for external protection

Personal identification is directly integrated in the form of symbols, numbers or letters for traceability of your aluminum hydraulic tanks at any time. This allows a clear path and process reconstruction.

To ensure that your aluminum hydraulic tanks remain absolutely leak-proof even in continuous operation and under the toughest conditions, leak testing is an integral part of our quality management. On request, you will receive the NovaNox® leak test certificate as a written declaration of conformity with every delivery. The document gives you additional security and can be easily integrated into your overall documentation. We carry out these leak tests for you:

  • We adhere to ECE R34 or 70/21/EEC regulation by conducting a 100% test with air underwater in our exclusive test basin
  • Pressure test
  • Leak test by means of red or fluorescent dyes
  • Ultrasonic testing

Ensuring quality in manufacturing requires a precise description of the production processes. This is because this documentation ensures the first-class quality of your products.  A complete record of the individual processes also contains - especially in large projects - enormous opportunities for cost reductions, because defects and deviations from standards can be identified and eliminated at an early stage.

Precisely recorded, copyable processes also save time and manpower. We offer you this complete documentation for quality management:

  • Initial sample inspection report according to VDA 2, EN 9102
  • Factory certificates 3.1 and 2.2 according to EN 10204
  • Dimensional protocol by 3D measuring technique (Faro measuring arm)
  • Declaration of conformity for pressure tests

All our dossiers can be included in your overall documentation in a time-saving and effortless way.
